The Saturday classes were visited by Reverend Bob Oshita and Gordon Nitta (Church Board of Trustees President) this first wet morning in February. The Sensei recounted the rich history of Sakura Gakuen and its place in Japanese American history and the Sacramento Buddhist Temple. The expectations and responsibilities of us all to the school, our host and this legacy were reviewed. Gordon reminded teachers, students and parents the importance of safety, courtesy and following the written and implied rules of behavior on the temple grounds. The roll of parents and teachers to model appropriate behavior and guide the students was reiterated as we all are part of this learning experience. The School appreciates the shared wisdom of the morning talk and new semester welcome by these busy betsuin leaders.
